A diamond weighing 10 billion trillion trillion carats is at the heart of a dead white dwarf star nicknamed Lucy in this conception by an artist at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics


The largest diamond ever found is not on Earth, but faraway across the galaxy.

It's the burned out corpse of a star named BPM 37093 only about 50 lightyears away from Earth in the region of the sky we refer to as the constellation Centaurus.

The white dwarf star is a chunk of crystallized carbon that weighs 5 million trillion trillion pounds. That would equal a diamond of 10 billion trillion trillion carats.

Lucy. After it was discoverd in 2004, astronomers nicknamed the space diamond Lucy after the Beatles song Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds. BEATLES IN WIKIPEDIA »

Lucy, also known as BPM 37093 and V*886 Cen, is the 886th variable star in the constellation Centaurus.

Star of Africa. By comparison, the largest such precious stones on Earth are the 545-caret Golden Jubilee Diamond and the 530-carat Great Star of Africa.

The Golden Jubilee Diamond was found in 1985 and is in Thailand's Royal Palace as part of the crown jewels. The Great Star of Africa was found in 1905 and is in the Tower of London as part of the Crown Jewels of England.

White dwarf. A white dwarf is the hot cinder left behind when a star uses up its nuclear fuel and dies. It is made mostly of carbon and oxygen. and surrounded by a thin layer of hydrogen and helium gases.

The Sun's diameter is 870,000 miles (1.4 million km). Lucy is tiny at a mere 2,500 miles (4,000 km) diameter.

The Sun is 109 times the diameter of Earth. Lucy is only about 2/3rds the size of Earth. That's tiny for a star. However, Lucy's mass is about the same as our Sun. That's a lot of weight in a tiny ball.

While Lucy is a dead star now, it used to shine like our Sun. Lucy is very dim now, shining with only 1/2000th of the Sun's visual brightness.

What is Lucy? Lucy is the most massive pulsating white dwarf currently known. Like other white dwarfs, Lucy probably is composed mostly of carbon and oxygen created by the past thermonuclear fusion of helium nuclei.

Lucy has a very thin atmosphere of hydrogen and helium. The atmosphere of our Sun is mostly hydrogen and helium.

Astronomers say that, similarly, our Sun will deplete its nuclear fuel and die in another five billion years, and then become a white dwarf like Lucy. Then, about two billion years after that,
the cinder Sun will be a similar diamond.

How do they know? Astronomers had suspected since the 1960s that the interiors of white dwarfs would be crystallized and Lucy seems to confirm that.

In its death throws, the core of a star like Lucy or our own Sun becomes exposed and slowly cools down over time. Such a star begins to pulsate when the core surface temperature drops to about 12,000 degrees.

By comparison, the Sun's core temperature now is about 27,000,000°F (15,000,000°C). Its surface temperature is about 11,000°F (6,000°C).

Lucy pulsates like a giant gong. Its internal pulsations are something like seismic waves inside Earth. Astronomers measured the pulsations to figure out Lucy's carbon interior was solidified (crystallized).

Astronomers measured the pulsations hidden in Lucy's interior in the same way geologists use seismographs to measure earthquakes inside Earth.

Where to look. Lucy is not visible from Earth with the unaided eye. It must be viewed with a telescope and is best seen from Earth's Southern Hemisphere during March-June.

I dreamed that I heard that Pope John Paul was the last to complete the circle in 2003. I remember thinking the circle was a ritual the pope performed in connection with the Sun or the Precession. Then I saw what appeared to be the nights of the round table, but a new age version. I remember someone talking about eating the hind parts, and I thought it was some kind of ritual.

After a little research, I found that Romulus was a reference a twin son of the Greek god of Mars. Most likely representing one of the moons of mars.

I had two dreams this week. One of martial law where traveling was limited and state to state border crossing was forbidden. We were wearing backpacks and leaving home. A little girl asked me for oil, I had two bottles. I thought to give her one, but wanted to save it so I gave her most of one bottle.

The second dream was where the U.S. Military was conducting exercises where it impersonated enemy troops and attacked U.S. targets.

Blood Sacrifice & The Blood of Jesus

Is it possible that the communion ritual was added to the New Testament, and is in fact an ungodly act?

[Jn 6:53-56] Truly, Truly, I tell you, if you do not eat the flesh of the Son of man and drink his blood, you have no life in you.54Anyone who does eat my flesh and drink my blood has eternal life, and I shall raise him up on the last day.55For my flesh is real food and my blood is real drink.56Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood lives in me and I live in that person.

Why would Jesus lead his followers to symbollically eat flesh and drink blood?

Did the practice of blood drinking originate with the Nephilem and imposed on believers through Catholicism?

This is a critical question. For many not participating in the communion ritual is a damnable act. However, could failure to look critically at the ritual itself be equally as damnable?

What precedent outside of scripture do we as humans have for this symbolic act?

Much of what Jesus taught resonates with our spirit, and have a humanitarian precedent such as love, peace and selflessness. However this blood drinking ritual has no precedent that I know of outside of vampirism and satanism. Please comment. Thank you.

Reign of Babylon Announcement Dream

I dreamed that I heard a voice and it said on June 16th Babylon will openly announce its reign. I don't remember hearing what year. I have a strong premonition that this will happen.

What does this mean? The bible tells us that Babylon will fall. Many believe America to be the modern day Babylon with all the accompanying signs and symbols including the all seeing eye and the pyramid. I tend to hold to that belief also.

The New World Order is a global political/economic/religious system. Babylon is the empire with its base in the Empire State, New York City.

In the book of Revelation we learn that the Beast will reign for 42 months, which is 3.5 years. It appears clear in the scripture that Babylon will reign for 42 months and then fall before the end of the age and the return of Christ.

Could this empiracle power have a formal announcement of its godless reign and the end of America as we know it? I will be watching for something to happen this summer.

When Babylon Reigns in its full form, there will be a cashless society (the fall of the dollar), totalitarian monitoring of speech, thought and action (all seeing eye) and a global religion (worship of the beast, complete obedience to the government). Watch and pray.

Update 5/6/10

I have been seeing the symbol of a cross within a circle everywhere I go all of a sudden, beginning a couple of months ago. I have found some confirmations on what it could mean. I believe it is an astronomical symbol with great significance. Its religious significance is purely metaphoric.

"There are two powerfully transformative planetary alignments in the summer of 2010.
A T-Cross on July 30, in the fiery dog days, of six planets -- the Moon, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Pluto -- all forming a very "difficult" and "stressful" set of 90° squares and 180° oppositions in the cardinal signs of Aries, Libra and Capricorn.

A Grand Cross on August 6 of seven planets as Venus joins the alignment, and the Moon moves into Cancer.

SAN DIEGO - San Diego County will be buffeted by an unseasonably chilly spring storm again Thursday before drier, milder conditions return Friday, forecasters said.

By the time the unsettled weather moves east tonight, it will have dropped a quarter to three-quarters of an inch of rain in coastal and valley areas and up to 2 inches on west-facing slopes below the snow level, according to the National Weather Service.

By 7 a.m., the storm had already caused problems with the morning commute.

The California Highway Patrol received 74 crash reports between midnight and 7 a.m. In good weather, the agency typically get 50-75 crash reports in a 24-hour span.

All but six of Thursday's early morning crashes occurred between 4 a.m. and 7 a.m., according to the CHP.

The storm, which blew in late Tuesday, has been accompanied by temperatures 15-20 degrees below normal for this time of year.

Four to 8 inches of snow is likely at elevations of more than 4,000 feet, with drifts up to 10 inches possible on the highest peaks, according to the NWS.

The Mountain Empire Unified School District in Pine Valley closed schools Thursday because of slick, snowy road conditions.

That includes Campo Elementary, Pine Valley Elementary and Mountain Empire Senior High School.

Deadly Airborne Fungus set to Spread

A deadly, airborne new strain of fungus has emerged in Oregon. It has killed nearly one out of four known affected people so far and might also attack animals ranging from dogs to dolphins. And it is likely to spread, researchers now warn.

The new strain known as VGIIc of the fungus Cryptococcus gattii not only targets humans but has also proven capable of infecting dogs, cats, alpacas, sheep and elk. Other strains have even infected porpoises.

Although it can spread to mammals, it does not jump from animal to animal. Instead, people and other animals get it from inhaling spores released by samples of the fungus that infect trees.

"It's in the environment, and we're exposed to the environment," researcher Edmond Byrnes III of Duke University Medical Center told LiveScience. "And the environmental range of this has been expanding."

Potential to spread
While scientists aren't sure how the highly infectious or virulent fungus emerged in Oregon, they caution the new strain now looks set to expand to California and other neighboring areas.

"This novel fungus is worrisome because it appears to be a threat to otherwise healthy people," Byrnes said. "Typically, we more often see this fungal disease associated with transplant recipients and HIV-infected patients, but that is not what we are seeing yet."

Symptoms can appear two or more months after exposure. Most people never develop symptoms, but those infected may have a cough lasting weeks, sharp chest pain, shortness of breath, headache related to meningitis, fever, nighttime sweats and weight loss. In animals the symptoms are a runny nose, breathing problems, nervous system problems and raised bumps under the skin.

Treatment requires months to years of antifungal medications, and even surgery to remove the large masses of the fungus known as cryptococcomas that can develop in the body. So far it cannot be prevented, as there is no vaccine.

Origin unknown
The fungus C. gattii was originally linked with eucalyptus trees in tropical and subtropical climates. It first caused an outbreak in temperate climes on Vancouver Island in 1999 that has now spread into Washington and Oregon, where it infects local trees. This earlier strain, VGIIa/major, has killed nearly 9 percent of 218 patients.

After comparing the genes of the new VGIIc strain from Oregon with others, researchers suggest the new strain most likely arose recently, parallel to the outbreak that began on Vancouver Island. So far it has killed five out of 21 patients analyzed in the United States, a nearly 25 percent mortality rate. Lab studies with immune cells and with live mice revealed it is extremely virulent — that is, it can cause severe disease.

Determining the exact origin of the VGIIc strain has proven difficult. Investigations so far have failed to find it in Oregon soil, water or trees. It may have arrived from abroad or originated locally, researchers said.

Because this fungus had been confined to the tropics until now, researcher Wenjun Li at Duke University speculated that environmental changes might be responsible for the evolution and emergence of these new strains.

"We are trying to put together the evolutionary story of where these types come from by closely studying the genetics of all samples possible," explained researcher Yonathan Lewit at Duke University Medical Center.

It remains uncertain why VGIIc and VGIIa/major are more virulent than other strains. One possibility, given how this fungus can reproduce sexually, new hypervirulent combinations of genes emerged due to sex. The researchers also noted that cell components known as mitochondria in these strains could adopt a distinctive tube shape. Since mitochondria help generate energy in cells, it is possible these strains are more energetic, "but that's just speculation right now," Byrnes said.

When it comes to a public response to outbreaks of these strains, "public health officials in that area have formed a working group with state epidemiologists from all those states in the Pacific Northwest," Byrnes noted. "It's important that public awareness expand on this."

The scientists detailed their findings online April 22 in the journal PLoS Pathogens.
